To an Unknown Village

A few days ago, it was the weekend. I really wanted to take a break from the busy and noisy city life. So, without much planning, I and my two good colleagues—Ashek Mahmud Mithun and Sajjad Hossain Mahin—suddenly decided to go on a trip.

We didn’t have any fixed place to go. We didn’t even carry bags. We just had an open mind and a wish to feel nature closely. While traveling, we reached an unknown village in Kaliakair, Gazipur.

The village felt like a quiet and peaceful place, far from the city. In the middle of the village, there was a big old tree. Its roots were spread all around. It looked like the tree had been standing there for hundreds of years. Under the tree, there was a small bamboo platform. We sat there together.

It was a sunny afternoon. Sunlight came through the leaves and touched our faces. A cool breeze was blowing. Birds were singing. From far away, we could hear cows making sounds. Everything was so calm and quiet—it felt like time had stopped for a while.

Mithun Bhai looked around with joy. Mahin Bhai was busy taking photos. He wanted to capture the tree, the platform, and the light and shadows. Mahin Bhai said, “I must show this place to my wife. I can’t believe such a beautiful place is so near Dhaka. Nature is truly the most beautiful.”

After seeing this place, I made a promise to myself—I will come back here again. Not just me, anyone who loves nature should come and enjoy this kind of peaceful beauty.
